eShop Tax

Does the eShop charge tax universally, or is it one of those physical presence types of deals?

If the latter, does anyone know if it charges tax in Quebec?

Yes it does in QC. :-(

Blah. Sony's the only one who gives us a break.

Does Nintendo at least sell cash cards in non-awful values? A $40 card is pretty damn pointless if you're going to charge tax.

I'd look it up online, but none of the retailers seem to have cards on their sites even though I've seen them in stores.

they sell em in 20's, Im in Ontario.

Shoppers drugmart seems to have them, I guess they sell out quick because I saw them once and next day gone. but havent seen wiiu 3ds ones yet.

They don't charge at checkout, it charges in eshop.

You can change to a difference province that gets 5% and just change back when your done.

Yeah but that doesn't help at all for a $40 game.

Even if I get $40 credit I still need to charge more to make up the tax.

Guess I'm buying retail. Thanks for the help.

I believe the highest they sell is 50? I don't intentionally look for them but I would have to assume they come in 50's.

You technically save if you change to a province with 5% tax, because you will pay your provinces tax on the retail game which I'm guessing is higher then that 5% which you pay on digital.

Unless your getting it tax free which Idk how and you should tell me. 0:)

you can purchase games with just the exact amount with a cc, I assuming no access to a cc and only eshop cards.

I know, but I have gift cards I was wanting to make use of.

I was trying to avoid making the trip when the game comes out (Fire Emblem, specifically) but I guess I'll have to.
