why do people always prefer pokemon apple to pokemon orange?

Gold over silver
Black over white
X over y
Need I go on? Why do people want the first one over its counter part? The yin over the Yang? Is it psychological that whatever is the latter is the b**** version?

Having the more popular board on GameFAQs doesn't mean the actual version is more popular. For example, I'm pretty sure Pokemon White outsold Pokemon Black in the West.

I thought Silver was more popular, despite what the top message board says. The top message board doesn't mean anything. People just go to the more popular one, and traditionally it's always been the "first" version.

It's pretty much this in every case except Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team (which was DS-enhanced whereas RRT was a GBA game)
