After looking at like 10 trailers of it, it looks like a really awesome series. I've never played a FE game before though, so should i play some other one before i play this one or what?

This one makes subtle references to the remake of the first FE on the DS, but I think you just have to know that Marth is a legend.

You dont need to play one before hand but if you want to get a hang of the gameplay go try the GBA ones. Fire Emblem or Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones for the GBA are great startoff points for newcomers.

if you play the older Fire Emblems (pre-2004), you'll know what quality is, and thus, be unable to enjoy Awakening
