...when there's this kind of annoyingly bright "3D" light right next to the screen anyway? Seriously, is there any way to turn that thing off, like in the 3DS's settings? You would think they should at least allow for the player to decide whether or not they need a light announcing to them that 3D is available. It's pretty easy to find out whether or not it is without it.

which is exactly why they removed it in the XL.
for the regular 3DS you can use a bit of black electrical tape.

But I already have little added bumpers on the top of the screen to avoid any potential scratching issues. >_> I'm sick of having to modify and uglify my top screen just to avoid design annoyances. T_T

You modified when there's an easier option? I put a thin microfiber screen cleaning cloth inbetween. No scratches yet.

I just took the bottom bumpers off of my old DS Lite and stuck them to the top of the screen. I really would hate putting a cloth in between every damn time I close it. Closing it is supposed to be convenient, and I like to bring it around with me, and I open and close it often.

I hated that 3D light from day one. Especially when it would turn off and on during Street Fighter.

The 3DS has too many lights on it for my liking anyway, but I am so glad to have an XL and that they removed that God-forsaken light.

I actually have for the most part, it just seems stupid that there isn't an option to turn it off.
