I'm sure this has been asked before, but why do demos have limited uses?

How is this god damned stupid ass topic even still alive? There are freaks of nature that play a demo more than twice?! Is there even a point?!

When people talk about gamers' entitlement mentality, this is EXACTLY the kind of thing they're talking about. People thinking they're entitled to unlimited free demos... when they're really NOT EVEN ENTITLED TO DEMOS TO BEGIN WITH.

How would honestly use up that many uses without deciding whether or not you wanted to buy the game? Even HoR with its 6 uses had enough for you to play with each available class twice.

This was already answered. First page-

'I can say that in the past, there are instances where I've acquired a demo when there either wasn't much software on a platform, or when the game I wanted is very far off, and as such I accept the game as a small something of what I want- and do play it quite a bit. First Hunt was such a demo, as was the FFXII demo that was packaged with Dragon Quest VIII. The demo of Doom would be another example as well.'

Maybe I don't want Nintendo filling up my 3DS with undeletable garbage data designed solely to stop me from running supposedly free software on the device that I paid for.

I've been thinking about this and I think the real reason for the limit is little kids playing them.

Now most people over the age of 10 are going to play a demo once or twice and then decide whether or not they want the game, but a little kid can maintain getting joy from a basic demo for much longer. I know this because I happened to be a child once, as I'm sure a few of you can relate to. I still remember one of the highlights of owning a Playstation was the demos you'd get in magazines, I'd be hooked for weeks on snippets of games.

Anyway by limiting the demo this prompts said child to ask their parents to buy the game once they're locked out by it. It's even a good sort of quality barometer for a parent. Played a demo 30 times? Wow they must really like the game.

It's the only plausible reason I could think of.

Since you all love to wail around with this almighty and flat-minded "logic", I'll do you one better: YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO THE AIR YOU BREATHE EITHER. But, yet you're supplied a natural air supply without LIMITS.

So, try some zero-dimensional comeback from that one, and step your standards up, bros.

Hint: Just because you're not "entitled" to it doesn't mean you have to be given it half-assedly, let alone not at all. So stop that bleeding heart ignorance. It is pathetic.

And I reckon the gamers supporting these devs financially is enough entitlement to lift something as stupid as a demo limit given to them at the very least; so, again, less ignorance and more education to all those who want to whine that ignorant and ancient "You're entitled to nothing" line.

After all, the customer is always RIGHT with that being said (see bold).

This is the stupidest argument I have seen in a long time. Anybody who argues that a limit is wrong and shows how bad Nintendo is, are fools. The only reason you don't wasn't limits is because you're cheap. At least admit it. If you can't decide that you wasn't a game after 30 tries then don't buy it. The fact that you try to justify your behaviour with some BS, claiming that it's your choice because it's your system etc. is pathetic. They make the software, they decide on limits. Don't like it, don't play. It isn't that hard. You're meant to be grown ups and yet you argue and contest every decision as if you have a valid point when really you're just a spoilt child who is throwing a tantrum because you can't have your own way.

There is not one valid point here starting why limits are bad. Just a group of cheap freeloaders trying to justify why a company should give them free access to their software without restrictions.
