I'm sure this has been asked before, but why do demos have limited uses?

"How do you figure? No one is charging you for air, hence no one owns it."

That was already answered for you. Read the topic again and you'll see how stupid you're sounding. God.

Don't bother with the fool who doesn't even own a 3DS. He just wants attention. Its easier for him to be a grammar nazi than form a coherent argument.

The uses for air was maybe but air in it's entirety no one owns that. We do not live in the Spaceballs universe where they have air in a can. You are breathing it right now and you are not getting charged doing so hence air isn't owned. Water uses such as sinks and what not might be charged for but again if you are desperate for water there are things called lakes, streams, rivers, etc that no one owns in most cases (Though land is owned so that's tricky)

As a matter of fact there are companies who sell "air in a can".

Yeah I wouldn't doubt that but the fact of the matter is no one owns the air we breath. In fact if someone did own it they would have to be almost a Bond Villain and one that controls the Earth.

technically EVERY time you sell your games your selling something you don't own. (if you did own it,it wouldn't be illegal to make modifications to a console)

Your analogy is stupid and nonsensical.

So is your ignorance on the matter. You do know we are posting in the same board at least right?

Nobody OWNS air.

What difference does it make? It's the same difference, genius.

Demos, however... effort goes into them. Labor goes into them. frankly, it's pure generosity that they even exist.

And you claim what I say is stupid and nonsensical. Tell me, Lost Marbles, aside from the script you're reading in front of you, what do you all truly have to add other than this YES! man boy scout babble?

This is a capatalist society, and the producers are under no obligation to give you free samples. They do it of their own goodwill. If they choose to limit it... so be it. In the end... you still got to try it for nothing.

Tell me something that isn't obvious. Now, put down the Intro to Business book, and look beyond everything you were lead to believe. Then, we can sling mud about who really makes sense and who doesn't.

Now, paid locked on-disc/cart content? There's no excuse for that. THAT is a breach of trust.

But wait, by you and yours brilliant "logic", we aren't entitled to anything; so that "point" of yours you just made is just as moot, wise guy.

Look who's pot kettling again. Are you mad, bro? You claim I'm mad at your arse bleeding incoherence, yet you take your precious time to incessantly snipe my posts out of everyone else just to murmur more infantile whining, Mur Mur.

On that note, I fail to see you radiate an ounce of relevance yet. Keep trying though. Trolling takes subtlety and well thought out architecture, so start from the bottom with that.

You're entitled to what you pay for.

You don't pay for demos.

You DO pay for games.

I should be surprised that I would have to explain this to you. So why am I not?

*sigh* Welp, back to ignoring you. Trying to actually have a conversation with you is a waste of time.

How is this god damned stupid ass topic even still alive? There are freaks of nature that play a demo more than twice?! Is there even a point?!

When people talk about gamers' entitlement mentality, this is EXACTLY the kind of thing they're talking about. People thinking they're entitled to unlimited free demos... when they're really NOT EVEN ENTITLED TO DEMOS TO BEGIN WITH.

ITP: "A sense of entitlement is worse than racism."

ITP: "I don't have an argument so I'll argue against something the guy never actually said."

I do, actually. I was merely demonstrating the ridiculousness of criticizing people for feeling entitled - a feeling that every human being ever born is entitled to feel (oooh, that was so meta~).

Demos exist to help people understand your game. Are you implying irrationality to people expecting that Nintendo would provide them with an equal service? That the expectation that Nintendo's demos would work the same as demos on every other competing service is unrealistic? If so, you're right - it is unrealistic to expect Nintendo to meet its competitor's standards.
