Action Replay and the 3DS XL (Hypothetically)

Hypothetically, will the DSi updated action replay, updated for use with the 3ds, work on a 3DS XL?

Anybody know? Before someone hypothetically were to drop a few bucks for the dsi action replay?

Yes. The difference is cosmetic between XL and original 3DS, not OS.

Exactly. Think of the XL as just a larger regular 3DS.

@GoldenSun3DS Will the updated DSi Action Replay work on my 3DS XL (intended only for non-3DS games)? By that I mean will I be able to use codes in my Pokemon Black 2 without it "blocking the firmware" or whatever? I read some other forum from last year saying it won't work, that 3DS blocks all that $h1t.

Just ordered it so I could cancel if you respond fast enough lol NO PRESSURE!

Thanks Man and or Woman,

It should work, but if they release an update for the 3DS firmware that blocks it, you're SOL unless you have a old DS to update the AR on(assuming it works the same as a flashcart would).

Sorry i'm new to the DC/3DS world but by flashcart do you mean something like an R4 card? Because i'm using the legit store bought card. Would I be able to delete an update such as that if it were to appear? And does 3DS have a pop-up message at the times of an update?

Thanks again guys!

The 3DS should warn you of a new System Update, which may or may not block all the non-game carts(flashcarts, AR, etc). you can google around and find out before you update, though if you happen to update your 3DS before the AR gets an update, it'll be blocked and likely require a regular DS(or at least an unpatched 3DS) to update the AR to work with the latest 3DS firmware or require you to buy an entirely new AR.

I can PM you more info if you want it.

Nop, the DSi AR does not work on any model of 3DS if the 3DS has any of the last 2 updates.

Datel, through it's Codejunkies.com si is selling a "specially marked" action replay that works on any 3DS for DS games only, and it runs on the actual firmware.

*stares at his old DSi AR*

OP your gimmick made me rage before I realised it was just a gimmick, so I guess job well done

On second thought, I'm going to have to deduct 3 points from the initial score and leave you with a 6/10. Would you have not made it so obvious then the 9/10 would have been retained
