Maybe I'm missing something, but is there more to Fire Emblem than I played?

The gameplay is good and all in the demo, but it seems very basic for a SRPG, with no real theme or gameplay element going for it.

Disgaea has over-the-top battle animations, for example. Should I just not expect too much besides a good but basic SRPG?

You can marry your characters and then have babies! What else do you need?

Did I mention those babies will then FIGHT for you? Oh yeah man, it's THAT awesome!

Word?

I wonder if it'll be like in Dynasty Warriors where the parents look as old as their fully-grown children

Fire Emblem was indeed always the basic for SRPG. Grid-Movement, Rock-Paper-Scissor attack. It's all very simple, so if you enjoy a little more (a la Disgaea, though I argue that this is more a "grind RPG" than a "SRPG), this is the wrong series for you.

You think this is a grind SRPG?

People have spent hundreds of hours in Disgaea levelling their party to 9999

Long as there's nothing that extreme, I'd be down for it.

Don't like how simplified the sprites are on the board >_>

You misinterpreted his post. He was saying Disgaea is a grind RPG and FE was a SRPG. There's no grinding to be had in FE. Well usually, this one does allow for it.

This, I was talking about Disgaea, not Fire Emblem indeed.

Well, it depends on each retailer, but normally, Nintendo NEVER lower their price on their first party game. So chances are, it will still be 40$ officially in one year from here. Though yes, maybe you'll find a deal somewhere, but it won'T be because Nintendo lowered their price :)

EDIT: I've been ninja'd
