Is Circle Pad Pro XL essential and effective?

#1ProwdeegyPosted 1/18/2013 5:24:57 PM
I'm planning to buy a 3DS XL (any reason i should not and buy the 3DS instead? Tell me) to play MGS 3: Snake Eater. The game uses face button for camera but it is compatible with the circle pad pro peripheral. What I want to ask is, how is the experience improved with the circle pad pro? How does it change the feel when I play? does it change the function of the face buttons?

improved ****loads. its probably the only game that its near essential to have it. its playable without, but a lot worse.

I play the game on my regular 3DS without the CCP. It's not TERRIBLE, but I'm definitely considering getting the CCP.

I played MGS3D and RE Revelations with the Circle Pad Pro and I would never play either without it! :) there's your answer! hehe

this. I tried playing RE:R without the CPP, and it made me hate the game. got the CPP and it made the game much better

There are also demos for both games on the eShop, so you can give them a shot without the CPP first.

It's pretty much essential for MGS, but I played RE:R without it and had absolutely no issue. Just use your thumb on the screen to glance around when needed.

As far as CPP XL i wouldn't know since NOA (as usual) is stalling getting it localized (the actual packaging) over here.

As far as the CPP it was awsome. playing RE:R with it was amazing compared to playing the game without it. sure it looks weird attacted (like a "growth" as people like to say xD) but it's actually really comfortable to hold. feels like you're now holding a controller (a GCN "Wavebird" or Wii "Classic Controller Pro").

Now that i have a 3DS XL my CPP is useless. waiting for the CPP XL to be localized. not paying $40-$50 to import one either...
