It'll never happen because it'll compete with their 'current' gen games.

Shame, I'd love to have VC versions of Stadium 2 and GenI/II

C'mon, let's be honest here: both the serious supporters of the idea and the Genwunners only want this game for the nostalgia.

I mean, there's absolutely no gameplay value other than nostalgia that qualify this game. How so? Simply put, the general gameplay of RBY is raw. Every other edition at least added something to the formula to make things more interesting, but nothing gameplay-related was left behind.
But as others already stated above, the original GB Pokémon games were horribly bugged.

And the "back then nobody complained" argument is just desperate. They didn't complain because there was nothing even halfway comparable - it was a first thing back then, and technological standards from the 90s barely allowed for competition on handheld devices simply because the GB defined the handheld by itself.

So yeah, if anything, Nintendo would be wise to only take the games from GBA era onward - but this idea fails due to the 3DS' wireless being nothing like the IR adapter or a link cable. The games simply wouldn't be able to use the communication methods, unless Nintendo manages to extend the VC framework with fake signers for link cable (which I don't see happening anytime soon).

Good to know that the Virtual Console is only used to release games that have aged fantastically.

Lol oh wait it's used primarily to fulfill nostalgia.

If they're working on transfer capability, the logical thing is for an also eshop release of Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2.
