They already got Fatal Frame. What do you guys think it could be?

There is no way the IP holder of Rune Factory and Harvest Moon would let them go, because that's all they have as far as games go. Though if this is more along the lines of Nintendo helping to publish them and drive sales, that could be good.

Personally, I'm stumped...and isn't Layton pretty much Nintendo exclusive anyway by this point, even if not officially?

Of the ones you picked, Dragon Quest is my most likely pick. I could see Layton fitting in with the Nintendo family, but I doubt they'd take the franchise (room to be wrong though). Same with HM and RF.

hotel dusk/another code series? i remember talks of nintendo possibly snatching these up, though i doubt they're well known.

I doubt they'd gain full rights to it while Square Enix is still working on Dragon Quest VII. Maybe afterwords, but not during.

probably just means they are going to take care of publishing games outside of japan, which they pretty much did anyway.

still, would be nice if it's true because we'd pretty much be a lock to get the DQ7 remake. maybe we can get the DQM remake too?

This. Also Harvest Moon is pretty big on other platforms with other platforms getting the better versions of games. Look at Rune Factory ToD for example. The Wii version is ok, but the PS3 version is a LOT better. Also there's all of them PSP Harvest Moons, PSOne Harvest Moons, and even PS2 Harvest Moons.
