What's wrong with my 3DS?

I noticed it was off today, which was unusual(I usually leave it in sleep mode), so I tried to turn it on. However, it wouldn't turn on. I didn't play it yesterday, but I charged it last night, so I figured it wouldn't be dead. Anyways, when I got home, I tried charging it. Whenever I do this, the orange light lights up for around 5 seconds, then disappears. This happens everytime I plug it in. It still won't turn on. Does anyone know what's wrong and how I can fix it?

Well if you say whats true, from past experience with the ds, since it's fully charged and you plug it back in the light will come on and attempt to charge it but will notice it's fully charged so it'll turn off again. My guess is it COULD be just he power button. I know with my 3ds i sometimes have to click it a bit harder to turn it on/off. So try pressing a bit harder or in different angles slightly. Thats all i can suggest so I hope other people have ideas.

Thanks for trying to help, but that doesn't seem to be working.

Does anyone else have any ideas? If not I guess my 3DS is off to Nintendo.

Try holding the power button down longer?

Hmm... just had a idea. Try removing the battery from the back. Im pretty sure if removing the battery and putting it back doesn't work, i don't know what will.

The only advice I have is to use this method by pressing the power button for at least 10 seconds for a "super" reset. Hope your problem gets resolved.

Don't be upset because of what you can't do. Do what you do best, live as carefree and optimistically as you can because some people aren't able to do that.

You're battery is dead; charging won't help, so you need a new one.
This happened to my cousins DSi. When you charge it and the orange light turns on then off within a few seconds, then the battery is beyond charging. You just need a new one.

So if I get a new battery the 3DS should be fine? I'll try that, thanks.

To the person who suggested removing and re-inserting the battery, I've already tried that, and unfortunately it didn't work. So new battery it is I guess.

See if you can borrow somebody else's battery (maybe a friend's) incase it doesn't fix it. If you buy a battery and it turns out it's not the battery, you just bought a pointless battery.
