I've never played Ocarina of Time....

I'm honestly not sure if it still holds up. Most of the people who praise it as a classic are those who played it in the 90s, I've tried to get into it a few times in recent years, and it just isn't happening. Lots of annoying gameplay. Very outdated look and feel.

I just played it foe the first time ever on 3DS, and to be honest, it was amazing. Had me hooked till I completed it 100%.

Obviously it's aged, it is an N64 game after all. Still decent though.

I don't get these "it's outdated" comments. If the 3DS game was just a straight port I would understand... but it isn't. Much better visuals, framerate, and interface.

Aesthetics =/= the actual game.

The "actual game" variably ran in the teens as far as framerate goes. The 3DS version is at a relatively constant 30, or close to it. Besides, this quote that people keep throwing around specifically mentioned aesthetic matters so I'm not sure why you're bringing this up, especially seeing as how the game itself still plays, is paced, and is structured well.

No, I'm talking about gameplay and design, not technical stuff like framerate. The dungeons theme fairly well, but many of them are far, far too short. Hyrule Field's emptiness doesn't translate well to today, and the story DOES have pacing problems. Mainly once we get an awesome cutscene in Zelda fleeing with Ganon chasing after, with him standing menacingly right in front of Link, and Zelda tossing the ocarina etc. And then after that we don't get a single cutscene as half as suspenseful or interesting as that until Ganon's Castle. The story comes to a complete halt with the turn to Adult Link, and I find that disappointing. But just about every Zelda has pacing issues in regards to the narrative.

I'm not sure how "pacing problems" is suddenly synonymous with "not enough cutscenes".

This conversation is dropping off into a subjective pit so I'm just going to call your argument bunk and leave it at that.

Absolutely. OoT 3D is the best version of the game out, with the best graphics, controls, userface, 60fps, and even additional content such as a boss mode and Master Quest. It could last you months to full complete it, an absolute gem. Go out and buy it!
