Hmm, the flashing colors didn't work, even after like, an hour of play time.
In fact, it seems more noticeable now.

Maybe it doesn't have dead pixels, maybe part of your eye is dead.

I've had electronics (though never hanheld gaming systems) that have started with pixel death covering 3 percent of the screen, to 40 percent.

I have VERY strong doubts this is actually true.

It's not really Nintendo's fault, that was your mistake. This isn't like the 360's RROD problem, where its initial planned design by Microsoft caused the system to kill itself. Dead pixels are something common with screens.

It sucks that you got screwed with a defected system twice in a row, though.

It was an iPod touch. After almost two years, I could not see a lot of the screen. I had to return it to the apple store. I'm not the first person to have this problem, no reason to doubt anything. But most of all... WHY IN THE HELL WOULD I LIE ABOUT THAT? It's not like i'm saying I'm a billionaire with 35 girlfriends, just that the damage to my screen got progressively worse over time.

Anyways, returned my 3DS XL to GameStop, and they gave me another 3DS XL with Mario Kart 7. The screen is fine. And the XL is awesome. I feel it's truly the definitive version of the 3DS (3DS has good graphics, but seeing them on that little screen wasn't that cool).

Why would you lie about something like that? Because people lie about stuff like that on Gamefaqs ALL the freakin' time. I don't know why they do it but they do and often.
