is Fire Emblem still considered "niche"?

its really getting alot of attention lately even some of my casual gaming RL friends are starting to talk about it

I really hope it does well and give nintendo more confidence in bringing over Japanese titles to the west

It's definitely not niche anymore.

Awakening does seem to be somewhat more popular than the previous ones have been
over here, but we can't know for sure until we see the sales number.

However, I agree with you're post 100%, especially the part about Nintendo
localizing more games over here.

Maybe this game will sell well, but up till now at least, Fire Emblem's been pretty niche.

In SA2, it's Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow.

I thought it was considered niche even though it sells more in the NA or something and everyone I talk to knows about it. Might be wrong.

Its on track to sell over a million. I think its burst out of the niche bubble.

I would have considered it Niche until awakening. I don't know why this particular one is blowing up but it's getting more attention than fe7 and PoR.

Yeah, it seems that something happened when I was looking that changed things considerably. It used to be very niche, with awakening, I don't think that's the case anymore.

outside of Japan (Thracia 776 broke 100000 as a SNES game in 1999, that's how much selling power it has), yes

why is Awakening getting so much attention, most importantly from NoA themselves? because there's nothing else coming out for the 3DS or Wii U anytime soon, that's why

will Awakening put Fire Emblem on the map outside of Japan? of course not, Awakening is not a real Fire Emblem, and Awakening's success will be the final nail in the coffin for real Fire Emblem, because why make actual strategy games when games that cater to the braindead by being easily breakable even on the highest difficulty sell so much more?!

Yeah it doesn't sell much anyway.
