If my 3DS were to break and I had to get a new one would there be anyway to get what I bought on the other one on my new one?

No. What do you think this is, a machine by a company that isn't Nintendo?

Depends how broken. If we're talking smashed screen, buttons not working, anything like that, then yeah. If it won't boot up, then no.

You can get your games back by contacting Nintendo. It will be a long annoying process, but you will lose all of your save data.

Wrong.

While inconvenient, and a long process, you will be able to have access to all your downloads by contacting Nintendo. Just make sure that you have registered your device.

Another 3ds isn't going to read the games signed by your old 3ds just because you put the sd card in. You know, the whole piracy thing.

And I bought my 3ds used so I guess I'm screwed myself.

It isn't even a long process if your device is registered. It's like a 5 minute phone call and then you download your stuff.

I think if you send in both systems, they can transfer it for you. No idea how, but I've heard they can do that.
