Wow man I've been underestimating handheld console gaming for far too long.

I mean damn what a huge blunder on my part. Just picked this up along with a psp 3000 and vita and I've been in portable game heaven! Cant believe I had my balls wrapped around home consoles for so long only to pass up on such great classics and newcomers alike. All this while dropping some nukes in the toilet....so very awesome. :D

Seriously what the **** was I thinking?

Console gaming has had a creative death for a long while. It's so hard to find fun games on them nowadays

Yeah man I feel the same. I feel like handhelds offer the kind of games I miss from the last generation of consoles.

^^^THIS!!!

3DS is a portable Gamecube to me.

And PS Vita is a cross between Dreamcast and PS2. Vita has a buttload of Fighters with the help of PsP digital back catalog.

Why both? I mean sure there are a few modern classic PSP games that aren't on the PSN, but the added cost of the system + memory + UMD could have easily went towards getting a few more Vita games or PSP downloads since 90% of the biggest titles are on the PSN.

For most games, you can pick up the UMD much cheaper than you can buy the same game off of PSN. And the cost of PSP memory is quite cheap now.

It's also quite possible that he just prefers physical media; the Vita has no UMD compatibility, so grabbing a PSP is the only way to go.

I underestimated portables for a long time also. Hadn't had one since the original GB, until I picked up a PSP a couple years ago. Now it's so much more convenient for me, that I'll definitely be buying a Vita eventually, and probably a 3DS too.

You should buy some of the great games released on the DS, it has an awesome library, you can play them on your 3DS since it's backward compatible.

I've been mostly portables only since the DS.
Not likely to change in the near future.

I thought consoles did pretty well. I didn't have any trouble finding games I liked (Saints Row, Arkham City, Borderlands 2, etc.) but it seems everything I want the most is coming to handhelds.
