Question about DS games on 3DS

I have the first DS Lite, and because of my settings, I couldn't use wi-fi. Now I am going to buy a 3DS for Fire Emblem, so I was wondering if you can do online things with regular DS games while using the 3DS.

Yep. I play Pokemon Black 2 online with my 3DS all the time.

Yes but you'll need to have an online capable DS game in the DSlite and the 3DS to transfer your DS NWFC info to the 3DS to keep all your original FC's for your old DS games.

Wait - if you couldn't get online with your DS Lite then chances are for most other DS games you won't on a 3DS either. Most DS games use their internal Wifi configuration which is limited to just WEP encryption.

The recent Pokemon games (Black/White and the sequels) are exempt from this as they use the external DSi/3DS Wifi configuration which allows for stronger encryption protocols.

However for most games that are not Pokemon, if they didn't work in your DS Lite, then they won't work on a 3DS.
