I also asked this on the CoP board but there seems to be more traffic here. I've been seeing people talk about this game a lot on this board and everyone says it's great. I think it looks pretty cool, but is it just some sidescroller beat 'em up or what? I tend to like RPGs and I'm always looking for something new, so tell me what you like about this game to convince me.

Just kidding. Yeah, it's a beat-em up type RPG.
It's a pretty fun game.

I haven't gotten the game yet, but one thing that has really sold me on it is that it appears to have a TON of unlockable characters. Seems like something that would add a lot of replay value.

its about a girl who needs to learn the meaning of a dress code
but really its a side scrolling beat em up with rpg like elements similar to the sega saturn game Guardian heroes

About that TON of unlockable characters. You'll actually be wanting to play with less than half of them as most of these "characters" are actually just the same boring NPC monsters you've been laying the smackdown on throughout or they'll be one of the villagers you need to protect during the bonus missions. The bosses, for the most part do play like the main characters but with a few skill alterations.
