Touch screen as alternative to second circle pad

it's really sad that nintendo did not include a second circle pad in the first place but based on my experience with the original ds, using the touch screen as a mouse works just as well if not better.
but im just curious why games like resident evil dont give a control option using the touch screen. im just imagining it on my xl and i think it could work just as well. thoughts?

You should search old messages for the CPP.... this topic has been done to death.

MH does uses the touch screen as a second d-pad. It even has a d-pad image.

You know there is literally no room inside the 3DS for a second circle pad, right?

i know there's no room. it's just that i was just hoping more games will include a control option that uses the touch screen. i really like the control scheme of metroid prime hunters and it would be great if the same controls given as an option on future games. metal gear could actually benefit from it as well.
