Start with Platinum or HG/SS, move on to black and white then it's sequel.

OK, awesome! I just bought HG AND SS from eBay pickup around my area and got it tonight!

I turned on HG to find a save file with 70+ hours registered on it.

SS has no hours on it, so i will play SS. Question, can i bring the pokemon from HG over to SS on one 3DS? Or do i need a mates 3DS at the same time?

I will bring them over when i hit the same hours or so, so i dont cheese the game with his levelled characters

Need two ds/3ds to trade the pokemon.

The 3DSXL im playing this on cnnects to my wifi no problem, but the NDS settings dont allow newer wifi connections only the old WEP connections. So i dont think i can connect to the web for the trade. Wow.

Traded with neighbours with my link cable, and collected all 150 pokemon - played it to death.

But there's 151 Pokemon in gen 1.

I had the same problem. I found this software called Intel My Wifi Technology, which works on Intel computers with Intel wifi network cards. You're able to set up an access point with WEP encryption that your DS can connect to. I did a quick search and it looks like Intel has replaced the software with Intel My Wifi Dashboard: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/wireless-products/my-wifi-technology.html (Click on the Software for Windows 7 link)

Once you get the software setup, you'll need to share your Internet connection with the software: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/mywf/sb/CS-029375.htm (In step 8, your software might be called something else. Mine is called Wireless Internet Connection 4)

Your DS will connect briefly, but then error out. You'll have to setup the IP address for your DS, auto obtaining it doesn't work for me for some reason: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/results.jsp?error_code=52000&system=DS&locale=en_US (For the actual IP address, I had my phone connect to my computer's WIfi and I was able to see the ip address that way. I used the same one for my DS).

Good luck

Thanks for this info mate, but this program really doesnt want to work for me. I installed it completely, but it keeps displaying an error saying that the driver for it is not installed. I have attempted to download the driver separately which fails every time. Sigh

I have a 3DSXL and a DS Lite, so i could put HG in one and SS in the other and trade between them obviously. How would i go about doing that? Thanks for all the help
