3DS came out early 2011, how much longer before it's dead?

I'm just wondering, because I plan on keeping my 3DS XL that I've bought. I bought and returned the 3DS twice before, but I hear the 3DS XL is a lot better in design, and there are a few games I actually want now.

Monster Hunter 4 looks phenomenal, and I'm getting Fire Emblem Awakening. I'll most likely get Mario Land 3D.

Anything else I should look forward to? I'm not into remakes, and I don't want OoT or Star Fox 64 as I've played those games to death. I'm also not a Pokemon fan.

If so, I'm prepared. I brought some friends who aren't necessarily into women, so they can distract the flamers.

I expect it to have a similar lifespan to the DS. Expect it to be dead by 2018, give or take a year

Get Kid icarus uprising and shin megami tensei devil survivor overclocked(if you don't have the original)

Question. what was the last main series pokemon game you played?

And yes there is stuff to look forward to. Short and Long term.

Luigis mansion dark moon(march 24th)
Etrain oddessey IV(feb 26th)
Dragon quest VII(2014)
Shin megami tensei IV(2014)
Super smash bros(TBA expect to wait until 2014 or later)
Legend of zelda(TBA. Holiday 2013 is fairly likely though)
Rune factory IV(summer)
Animal crossing(Q2)
Project X zone(summer)
Shin megami tensi
Legend of Zelda link to the past or majoras mask 3D(outright stated they will remake one of them but no decision and the original 3DS Zelda will come first)
Shin megami tensei devil summoner soul hackers(April 16th)
Brain age concentration training(feb 10th)
Ace attorney 5(TBA 2013)
Proffessor layton and the Azran legacies(TBA. October-November 2014 is likely)
Some others.
