I live on campus and I can never access the eshop because of the school firewall, is there a way to get around this?!

Use water?

What do you mean by firewall? If you mean going on the internet and having to put in a user name and pw then the 3ds can do that.

Do the wifi hotspot thing, once done that go to the internet browser and it should connect to the page for the input the username and pw, exit and there you go.

If the username and pw doesn't show up, try going to the school site or if got one your student web page. This is freaken annoying trying to connect on my laptop. Other sites give me error, the school site work fine and most of the pages but no username or pw page. Had to go to my student web page to get it to come up.

At my University, you have to register any devices that use wifi with them so you can make use of their wifi network. If you have already done that and they said no, then I can't help you :(

Most campuses do require you to register your devices but most of them also offer free wifi that only requires you to input your email to access it for a certain amount of time. Check to see if theres other wifi options.

I used a free program called Connectify to turn my laptop into a router.

If you have a Macbook (not sure about PC, but possibly) and you have access to an ethernet port (maybe in the library while you're working), you can turn your Macbook into a wireless hotspot that your 3DS can connect to (go into settings and go into the "Sharing" option. Or search Google for more detail). That's what I use in my residence.

Go to McDonald's or Starbucks or Panera or Barnes & Noble or any number of places that offer free wifi. Buy a coke for a dollar and buy what you want from the eShop.
