If Nintendo was making a handheld in 2014 would it have 3D?

3D craze has kind of faded in the last year or so. Would they have still made a 3D system today?

I doubt they would. It definitely is a gimmick, most people on this forum seem to play with it off.

Like when the 3DS came out, all the TV manufacturers had to introduce a new tech so they could charge 2-3x as much for a TV. Everything doing 3d, including a toaster that could render a 3d image of your toast as it was going(J/K.. but wouldn't be surprised if Google had something along these lines).

I believe at CES this year, none of the TVs that were displayed provided 3d capabilities, or advertised it, Smart TV/4k resolution seemed to be the big tech all the companies went with. And so on...

No, they've already said that 3D wasn't as useful a feature as they had originally thought. The thought of Nintendo dropping 3D for their next handheld does raise some concerns about backwards compatibility though.
DLC, online passes and the rise of casual budget gaming have ruined the video game industry.
