"I don't like first person games because I don't see my characters"

You don't see your characters, but it's good for aiming! (Especially when they put so much detail that when you look down you see your own feet. Then you can shoot yourself in the foot!)

I'm fine with first person unless platforming's involved, then it feels like in moving with a periscope taped to my forehead.
If the Sega Master System was a speed bump to the NES, the Atari 7800 was a tire-staining squirrel.

Being able to see your characters makes it easier to judge movement and distance. I hate having to do anything involving platforming while in first person, although Mirror's Edge kinda handed it nicely.
