Dragon Quest is pretty much the only thing SQ is still doing right, though I've yet to play DQX, so I can't say if having SQ developing it in-house was a good idea or not.

Anyhow, still psyched for this release despite the fact that I already own the PSX version, and I hope it comes out here soon.

None yet, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it to come anytime soon. DQ6 and DQ9 both came to us about a year after the JP versions.

if it takes a year ill wait a year. just the fact i can get this on my 3ds will be a dream come true!

Sounds like they took the thing that people liked most about the original (exploration) and stripped it bare to accommodate "modern gamers" who need to be guided.
