Why do most people seem to play with the 3D off?

I think it's a neat feature that isn't too distracting, and it looks really nice on some games. It makes games like OoT and Kid Icarus even more enjoyable, IMO.

So, out of curiosity, why do so many people not make use of the feature?

It can bother my eyes. Sometimes I'm in the mood to game, not get a headache.

Because being forced to hold it one position to not have double images everywhere is annoying.

I think it's one of those super cool features that most people forget to use like the game notes.

Admittedly, it does make my eyes feel weird if I use it for too long. I only got headaches when I first got the system, though.

I think people exaggerate that. You don't need to be as still as a statue, and if you happen to move it too much, it only takes a couple seconds to readjust.

They got brainwashed the slew of negativity from the entertainment media wanting to kill 3D. If your hear something enough, you start believing it. The whole eyestrain and headache thing is garbage, it's more natural on the eyes to view something in stereoscopic 3D since IT'S HOW PEOPLE SEE ALL THE FREAKING TIME!

It's not just the movement, it's that you need to hold it in the proper position so you don't get doubles to begin with. The usual lazy position I like to hold handhelds/controllers in doesn't work with 3D on.

For me;

A. It hurts my eyes, so I generally keep it low.

B. It doesn't really innovate any games I play, or make a difference that can be noticed. The only game I've played where it's utilized is Super Mario 3D Land.

I mean I'll turn it on for cutscenes and such, but while I'm actually playing the game itself I leave it off always. Only exception was Mario 3D Land.
