This poll is now closed.
The poll is not necessarily asking what is Nintendo's best handheld. But basically the handheld that people will remember Nintendo best by or the handheld that had the most impact (culturally, on the industry, or otherwise).

I"ve got to say the Atari Lynx: big shiny black machine with full color screen, no comparison with the puny green screen GBO. A true classic, no mistaking it for anything but a serious game machine.

Gameboy. It's commonplace in even the non-gamer's lexicon.
I've seen many older people still call all handheld gaming systems "Gameboys".

This

A lot of younger gamers who never had one might disagree, but I think the gaming community at large would agree that the Game Boy is the most iconic and synonomous with the word "handheld".

Good point. Gameboy is pretty much synonymous with 'handheld game console.'

Original gameboy for sure - however, a REALLy strong argument can be made for the DS, especially as the younger generation grows up.

The DS will probably be the "Gameboy" for those born after 2000.

If you hear 'Gameboy', what comes to mind? One of the originals? A Pocket? A Color? An Advance? An SP? I donno, but I'd think the color is the most iconic of the group. I could be wrong.
