As a fan of traditional RPGs, would I enjoy Soul Hackers or Etrain Odyssey?

I have my eye on these two games, so as a fan of RPGs like Earthbound and Dragon Quest, which title should I prioritize getting?

My sig will never happen, but it would be awesome if it did.

I believe that Etrian Odyssey has a demo out, can't comment on Soul Hackers.

Etrian is very much an old-school RPG, though.

You might also want to check out Unchained Blades, and (if we get it) Bravely Default. The latter is the newest Final Fantasy game, and it plays a lot like the FF games for the SNES/PS1 days.

It depends, do you like mazey dungeon crawlers that are lite on story? Then go with etrian odyssey. (and as mentioned, theres a demo).
Do you like dark modern stories full of demon summoning? Then go with soul hackers. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIvMsK9vwFI)
I plan on buying both.

You probably wouldn't enjoy either, to be honest. Your best bet is cough up the money and play Radiant Historia. That, or go back and play some rpgs, that are nit final fantasy, on the ps1. I would suggest Suikoden, Breath of Fire, Wild Arms, Xenogears, and Lunar to name a few. If you're adamant about playing a traditional rpg on the 3ds your best bet at this point is tales of the abyss. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but it's just the truth. I hope I helped.

Soul Hackers for sure. It's a excellent game. You won't mind the first person aspect of Soul Hackers if you enjoy Dragon Quest. Either way, you're missing out if you haven't played the SMT series yet.

Huge fan of Mother and DQ right here, and I love SMT and EO. They're not really that similar to the former two, but they're still great JRPG series.
