I picked 4. It was the first that had all the "iconic" Mega Man stuff set in place; the charging Mega Buster and Slide and Rush. Plus I love Dust Man!

After 4 it went downhill. I couldn't bring myself to finish 6.

But to me 4 was Mega Man's apex. I remember playing it as a kid.

4's my favorite. It has my favorite castle (Cossack's Citadel), a neat addition that wasn't completely overpowered like it was in sequels (Mega Buster), and I just think it refines the gameplay that the first three titles had. Some people call it the game that started the downfall of the NES titles. I personally think 5 was that, not that all six of them aren't fun to go through anyway to me.

3 is a very close second to 4, but yeah, I went with Mega Man 4. For the record, my full list is 4 > 3 > 1 > 2 > 6 > 5.

Mega Man 4, closely followed by 3 and 2.

5 was where it started to go wrong. The new Rush felt weird to use, most bosses were ridiculously easy and the Proto Man bosses were pretty boring. But the music was still awesome and so were the robot master designs. I also like some of the gimmicks, like walking upside down in Gravity Man's stage and riding a jetboat in Wave Man's stage.

The only one I really didn't like was 6, but I didn't much care for 5 either. My favourite has to be 2, it was just so much fun, and the levels and soundtrack were amazing. Most people say 3, but I actually preferred 4 over 3. 4 gets bashed a lot, but I loved it. Especially the auto scrolling level. Mega Man needs more of those.
