Yes, and while you're at it, get DS2 as well.

They're both fantastic games, especially if you love SRPGs.

Agreed!

Is it also recommendable for those who are novices when it comes to SRPGs? Fire Emblem: Awakening was my first SRPG and I really enjoyed it; but if this one is much more difficult, I'll probably hold off on getting it for the time being.

Devil Survivor 2 is not that good. I say that as someone who's favorite series is SMT. The difficulty balance in it is atrociously bad and I can't see how anyone could get through it without an insane amount of grinding and/or using a walkthrough. Devil Survivor 1 I also hear has terrible balance, but supposedly it's got an easy mode to make it more balanced in Overclocked. Go for Soul Hackers instead when it comes out in April. One of the best SMT games.

My dad is a novice when it comes to SRPGs, but he was able to play it without too many problems. I would think you'd be fine with this game.

I'd wait on DS2, since DS2 OC is inevitable.

I don't know. I played and beat DS2 without a walkthrough and I never grinded. Really, it's a strategy RPG. Rethink your strategies and demons and go again.

Still getting Soul Hackers, though.
