No idea, I gave my DS lite and stuff to my 5th year old cousin. Perhaps someone else can comment.

DS games look way better on XL.

I like both regular 3DS and XL, but for DS games, XL is definitely the way to go. 3DS's 1:1 resolution is way too small and the other resolution just stretches and makes the games all blurry like ****.

Seems like the 3DS xl's 1:1 resolution is way closer to the DS's resolution than the original 3DS's 1:1. So I guess it's good.
