It's nintendo, what do you expect. Ever since the 64, it has been behind on quality of technology. I like nintendo but it's a fact.

Would you wanna pay another 40+ just to get TWO decent cameras on there? I sure wouldn't.

The technology is from what? 2003? The first camera phone was about this quality. Nintendo doesn't care about technology. They care about gameplay and fun factor. Sometimes i wished they would care more though.

Sometimes I wish camera elitists hung around gamefaqs. Casual cameramen are ruining the industry. Just shell out the cash for a real camera like Nikon or something. Taking inferior pictures with your phone, tablet, or gaming device is never going to work out.

...

Seriously though, it's that bad. The best you'll get is if the lighting in an area is already good. The same applies to videos. You'll be able to take decent pictures then, but I'm using the term "decent" with generosity.

Buying a camera is the way to go. I have a normal canon point and shoot camera from last year, it takes amazing photos. Just 200$

Even if there was a better camera would you really wander round taking pictures on it? Anyone with sense would use a proper camera. Makes me laugh when you see people at E3 etc taking pictures on ipads.

I wish that they would just ditch the cameras. the quality is terrible, and it increases the cost.
