Waiting to play Super Mario 3D Land, but the wait is KILLING me!

I heard it is one of the best Mario games out there. Going to get it with the Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon promo and registering my 3DS XL, but damn is this wait unbearable! Fire Emblem is losing it's appeal slowly. :(

I wouldn't say it's one of the best ones. I would actually say it's average to below average xD, but that's just me.

It's actually fairly different than most 3D Mario games released so far. Take the basic gameplay of Mario Galaxy (minus a few of Mario's extra moves) and mix in the linearity and level progression of New Super Mario Bros. Not everyone's ideal mix, but it works well enough for a portable title.

Blasphemy. I detect one may not be a true fan then. :3

*Ahem* anyways. Don't worry so much dude. Unlike most other 3DS games, I've noticed Super Mario 3D Land is a lot more "bite-sized" about its approach to the game. Each level is pretty well paced out and you can pretty much play them at your leisure as few or as many levels as you want. My point is unlike many other game where you get "hooked" and get stuck playing for hours, SM3DL is a lot more manageable.

So don't worry too much. It will be just as fun when you get it for free as if you were to get it now. Great Game is G-G-G-G-G-reat!

Not in a million years. On a handheld, maybe.

Video games are awesome.

My beef with the game was that it was just too damn easy. I went through all of the main game without a hitch. Sure I enjoyed it, it was fun, but also just kind of boring. Then I heard that the post-game content was a lot more challenging and it really wasn't. I died a lot more, but still breezed through most of it.

Managed to do everything in that game in the span of a week (over winter break) and probably...15-20 hours. Glad I only borrowed it from a friend.

One of the best Mario games ever is a bit of an exageration, but SM3DL is still a solid game. deffinitly worth getting. It is kind of short/easy, but I don't regret buying it in the least.

I think 3D Land is one of the best mario games. It's got great level design, it's a lot of fun and it's loaded with the most content of any Mario game ever. Literally, 8 special worlds in the game after 8 main worlds. Then an insanely challenging secret level you unlock by getting all gold flags, beating all levels with Mario and Luigi and getting all the star coins. I've gotten like 9-10 game overs on the secret level and still only got around halfway at the furthest.

That's all called artificial replay value. About 80% of the extra worlds are just templates of the first half of the game but with less platforms or more enemies with a shorter time limit, etc; playing through the game as a color swapped and floatier Mario is not my idea of innovative or "extra content." I'd still give the game a 7, but it's nowhere near the best, in my opinion.
