The worst thing about 3DS is Spotpass.

^ sure and, in the use agreement it says " Failure to accept the update may render games unplayable"

Well... The battery, really, but at least I can plug it in and play after the battery runs out from 5 minutes of play.

But this Spotpass nonsense... Every big game has all these features that are related to Spotpass, Streetpass, whatever. I'm a grown man. People look down on me if I'm playing with a handheld system in public (although it's totally socially acceptable for adults to play games on their cell phones for some reason). But I need to "pass" other people with these games in order to unlock those features. It's terrible. Am I the only person annoyed by this?

Where do you live in New Guinna It is acceptable for adults to play in public in USA and Europe

I love the streetpass features a LOT
gives me a reason to go OUTSIDE my house now.
and about people looking down on you when you play your 3DS, they're probably Idiots who are insecure with themselves because someone is having fun...
and like others said no one will really KNOW you have a 3DS if you put it in your pocket all the time...

Link I can't help but say, "who the hell cares if your playing a 3DS in public man." I see a lot of posts like yours, and honestly I just don'y get it because I play my 3DS in public and couln't care less if people label me a nerd, because I am a gaming nerd and proud of it. Im not out to impress anybody and I would encourage you to chill out, everybody is thinking about themselves, not you.

I have a question about Streetpass.

How can 2 3DS's communicate if they aren't in a wi-fi zone and connected to the internet. I just don't see how thats possible, isn't an internet connection required for them to connect? I don't get it.

Not sure if you are serious or not. Same way you play multi-player on DS and 3DS games. The systems can communicate with each other wirelessly. No internet is needed.
