Worst-case scenario, it will eventually be rebooted when someone is looking for a quick idea. Once-popular series' are unlikely to die for this reason.

There was more than 20 years between Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters and Kid Icarus: Uprising.

Star Fox ain't dead, it's just another IP that Nintendo neglects.
