Just got the Circle Pad Pro for XL.

How exactly does this thing work in terms of battery usage? Does it just always use up battery when attached to my 3DS when it's on or in sleep mode? Or does it only turn on when a compatible game is using it?

it turns on when you hit a button, and then turns off if you don't use it for a while.

^ What he said... Also the battery that comes with it is really cheap and won't last long, a fresh battery can last 400 hours.
