Fire Emblem Awakening may be the most insanely undershipped game I've ever seen

If you don't want to go for the gougers (a true fan would go for gougers by the way) you can check out Amazon.com who currently has market place shippers that do international orders for about half of what's being asked on ca. Or you can wait till Amazon.com gets more in stock, usually (I'd say about 90%) of their new games ship to canada as well (I am in Toronto btw and do this all the time).

Amazon.com won't ship this to Canada, see below:

Shipping: Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S. and to APO/FPO addresses. For APO/FPO shipments, please check with the manufacturer regarding warranty and support issues.

It's true that some sellers might be willing to do it, but there doesn't seem to be any easy way to check which will other than to add them to your cart and try to check out and see if it fails, which is annoying.

...to APO/FPO addresses...
that means you might need a forwarding service to get it.
I would think it will still be way cheaper than what you would pay for on that Amazon.ca

I've tried that before and generally had bad experiences with it. If I have to go that route, I'd rather just buy it on Ebay rather than pay shipping twice.

For the marketplace sellers, you don't need to click on each one. It will either say "domestic" or "international/domestic" shipping rates under each seller. The international ones ship to Canada. Seems like you're just trying to make excuses not to support the series. I'm starting to wonder if you're even a true fan at all.

I get the feeling he will be paying a lot more because of the international shipping costs plus US$52.99 base...

Not that one would try to make excuses not to support the series but the digital copy would be less expensive than this. I don't think the game is worth so much to pay high amounts for it. You also have to factor in that the DLC will cost more money later on, so there shouldn't be any reason why one has to fork out more money to the middleman. Nintendo or Intelligent Systems don't get any extra money here.

Oh, so it does. I've never actually seen one that offered international shipping rates before, I guess. Granted there's rarely any reason to use Amazon.com over Amazon.ca.

I might consider that, though paying close to $20 markup for the cheapest Canadian option still doesn't sit well with me.

Also, as far as supporting the series, I would love to support it if I could find it in stores. Nintendo is the one making it hard to support them.

Who else read this as underworshipped?

I did at first to be honest.

Terotrous, did you try Play-Asia by the way?
http://www.play-asia.com/Fire_Emblem_Awakening/paOS-13-71-18m-49-en-70-5ns5.html

It's on back-order status but I think the price of it will probably beat the Amazon ones.

I'm thinking if I should get it from there in fact, but I'll have to wait and see the price from my local gamestore before I consider this one.

That's actually probably where I should have ordered it from. I've ordered from Play-Asia a lot, I just never think to go there for domestic titles.

In future, though, they may be a good alternative when Amazon.ca decides to randomly not carry a game.

I'm thinking of cancelling my pre-orders from the local gamestore for Animal Crossing and maybe order that from this place later.

For Fire Emblem, I think I will see how much they are going to price it here. If it is cheaper than Play-Asia by a considerable margin, I'll just get it.

Well my main concern is just how long it's going to take Play-Asia to get that game back in stock. Though I suppose I could order now and simply cancel it if I find it locally before they ship it.
