Right now, there are a few on Wii U and a lot more on 3DS, and I only hope to see that number grow. I would've never bought Resident Evil Revelations or Sonic Racing (on Wii U) without getting the chance to try them out first.

I'm all for demos but in all of my gaming years I don't think a demo has ever swayed me towards a purchase I wasn't already set on making. More often they deter a purchase.

The FEA and EOIV demos are the reasons I decided to buy the games. I don't think I would have without them, tbh.

I haven't played a lot of demos outside the 3DS. I know playing a Legend of Dragoon demo years ago convinced me to get it. And while I haven't purchased them yet, Rhythm Thief and Crush3d wouldn't even be on my radar had there not been a demo.

Demos can either be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how their presented. Though for me, I only really enjoyed the demos for the free chance to play them. Others I just played for games I was already buying (like FE:A and EOIV). Only demo for a game I had been considering at all so far has been the Monster Hunter demo, but that only turned me off from the game.
Stop reading my sig, you are wasting time doing so.

If it wasn't for the demo, I would not have bought FE: Awakening.

The Resident Evil: Revelations demo definitely helped me make my decision to buy it.

Sometimes demos can suck though. I hated the Dead Space demo, but when I got the game for cheap years later, I loved it.

Demos have convinced me more often in buying the games than dissuade. It's all about how the demo is structured. There were a lot of Playstation games I wouldn't have gotten if it weren't for the demos available.
