Questions on Updating SD Card

#1BlackPhoenix127Posted 2/26/2013 9:10:12 AM
1) Can I use a 32 GB SD card?

2) Is there any specific speed or class I should look for?

3) Can I just copy and paste my stuff from the old memory card via PC? Or is there going to be some formatting or weird stuff I have to do?

1. Yes
2. Not sure, but I'd suggest looking at higher speeds. I'd rather not have the 3DS waiting on the card.
3. Yes. No formatting needed unless using a card larger than 32GB. Then the 3DS requires FAT32.

Thanks, right now I'm thinking a class 4 speed from Sansdisc or a class 10 from Sony. Brand shouldn't make too much of a difference right?

I believe Class 4 and Class 10 both offer the same performance in the 3DS.

I am using a 64GB Class 10 45 MB/Sec Sandisk SD card - it loads the titles on my home screen @ around 4 seconds, as well the actual games at roughly the same speed on both cards.

If both cards offer equal storage and you have an option to pay extra for a higher speed card - don't bother.
