Can we just agree that it's a shame that they didn't tinker around with the mechanics of the game more?

Agreed. I have no issue with the sticker concept, it was just done pretty poorly.

see this is terrible whining about options you chose to take in a game that made it easy.
don't like power bounce don't use it.

I know i never did even though i used goombella's multibonk.
i didn't use the same tatics on any two bosses.

here's the first three in example
after chapter 3 i did even more different moves
Boss 1 hooktail
multibonk,power smash,rise,repeat
Boss 2 ??? multi bounce multibonk rise repeat
Boss 3 ??? yoshi's standard move,super jump,charge during mario's next two turns,goombella(quick changed) multibonk two turns,rinse repeat

The main reason I do not like Paper Mario Sticker Star is that I personally found it to be dull, same goes for Super Mario 3D Land

Not EXP would have been fine in Sticker Star if it did anything to compensate. Did it?

Nope; every permanent addition to Mario is either
A) Found in the overworld, or
B) Acquired after beating a boss.

And there are only two things that change about Mario, neither of which is particularly satisfying to increase. You don't gain the ability to customize Mario more, increased power, more attacks, or more party members. Battling in W5 feels almost identical to how it did in W1; largely because the developers just plaster shiny versions of previous stickers everywhere in place of something interesting and creative. In all three previous PMs, the game gets increasingly more fun as you progress through the game. In SS, it stays basically the same.

This isn't a minor issue.

In TTYD the Power Bounce and Power Lift both come really early on and trivialize the game.

This doesn't have anything to do with my post.
More villains need to be protagonists. BiS proves it can work.
Ridley, Ganondorf, Fawful, Bowser, and Dimentio all for their own games!

This is also true for me, but I don't bring it up in arguments because it's much more opinionated. I'm still pissed at Miyamoto for making the cut the story and new characters.
