They won't make a sequel to it because then (some) mario fans will bah it being a "rehash" --- Jirachi is the best pokemon Welcome to my barbecue-kefka ffvi

I freaking love the Galaxy games. I'm going to get hanged for this on this board, but they're my favorite Mario games. HOWEVER, I'm hoping Nintendo makes the next game less linear, and a little more like Super Mario 64. But if it doesn't, I won't complain, I like both kinds of games. --- http://i54.tinypic.com/2ueicrl.png http://i.imgur.com/vThlo.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/55h0ya.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6YYCF.jpg 3DS FC: 2621-2609-5041 (Nick)

but classic platform gameplay bringing back memories of tick tock clock and other familiar places
What? The Galaxy games have much more platforming than 64. --- http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7082/7330305182_5b3fefe54c_o.gif http://i34.tinypic.com/adnlsk.jpg http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mcjibxsGMv1renuivo1_400.gif

Go play Banjo Kazooie.
Rare already did it better than Nintendo in the same generation.

If you want a real answer to why we never saw the spiritual successor to super mario 64, then look up super mario 128. It was a tech demo for the game cube but never saw the light of day. But honestly everyone should assume sunshine took the next step.
Your question in short: No, we will never see the 'actual' sequel --- PSN: chocolatethundr5 XBL: chocolatethund5 FC: 1332 - 8303 - 7699
