Does making a slight change to your Mii make it so that if a person streetpasses you a second time, that it makes it an entirely new character or just updates the old one?

I started out naming my Mii after my internet name, and when I went to class I picked up two people using their real names. I changed it to my real name so that they'd be able to figure out who I am, and then later changed my favorite color to match the mario hat. Would they have three of me in their thing, or would they just have the third one?
