Games with the worst voice acting

Any game that is dubbed in english that came from japan /endthread

The Japanese va's are always vastly superior than the cheap ass dubs these companys due, because in japan its actually a career, mostly because the japanese ones actually act, where in 99.8% of dubbed over games into english they just blankly read lines off a script and do not actually act.

Steven Blum and Tara Strong are 10X better than any Japanese VA that's name wasn't Daisuke Gori.

On top of that, anime based games are usually better in English, with some exceptions. Ken's Rage and any DBZ game are best in English (due to KR's Japanese cast lacking Akira Kamiya, it's not the same without him).

FF10 was also great in English, partly due to the fact that James Arnold Taylor kicks ass (mind you, Tidus is his worst roll, he's awesome as Ratchet though, but that's not to say Tidus was poorly done).

In reality, worst voice acting in a game is a tie between RE, and FFXIII. Bad voice acting all around in those.

Kid Icarus: Uprising.

I'm dead serious. It's not the worst VA I've ever heard, but it's close. Then again, I haven't played many games with bad VA.

No you haven't.

If the game takes place in Japan, I prefer Japanese voices. If the game takes place outside of Japan, or in any fictional setting that isn't based closely on Japan, then I prefer English.

So, a game set in Japan has to be in Japanese, while it's okay for a game set in France to be in English?

I'm surprised that I haven't seen Baten Kaitos mentioned here yet. It's got some pretty terrible voice acting.

Do games made in Japan ever have a French option? >_>

If there was a French option, I'd choose it.

How on Earth does it not make sense to prefer hearing the characters' native languages?
