I hope Mirror of Fate sells poorly.

It means that the style would likely have not picked up because the next most popular of that genre, DMC, wasn't nearly as successful.

Thing is that most of those that bought Lords of Shadow in the West do not own 3DS's.

What Konami should of done was keep Lords of Shadow on the consoles and keep the traditional/IGA Castlevania's on handhelds.

Killing the soul of a franchise to "broaden the fanbase" is wrong.

It means "we don't care about the established fanbase that made our franchise possible, we want to disregard you and appeal to casuals instead".

Such an action is an insult and it would be better for the franchise to die than for it to be successful and create a terrible precedent.

If disregarding the old fans becomes successful what makes you think they will care about their new fans?

It must be severed before the cancer can grow.

I think itll do pretty well. The GS i preordered from sold out kinda fast as someone came in looking for a copy and they didnt have. My sister had to try 4 different GS stores before taking the last copy at one. Its a good game. Different does not always mean bad you know. Look at the new Tomb Raider, different from the rest but still very good. Also, at least LoS gives Castlevania a good storyline since the older games were all over the place story wise. Theres a reason the series is the best selling in Castlevania history. Ive been a CS fan since the SNES days and my fav in the series is SotN but LoS is good also.

It makes me sad to know that Lords of Shadow is the highest-selling title in the 20 year history of my favorite franchise, Castlevania. It took one game to destroy everything I love about the series, restoring it with some typical fantasy tropes, reusing the names of characters, and turning it into yet another God of War clone.

Worse yet, my favorite part of the series, that wonderful, blissful soundtrack, was replaced by a Hollywood movie score. This is not Castlevania, and I will never accept it as such no matter how much Konami tries to cram it down our throats. Harmony of Despair was the last good thing they did for the series, and it makes me sad we may never get to see or play the talents of IGA, Yamane, or Kojima ever again. As a fan of the series since the very first game, I would even welcome the older talents or KCEK - responsible for Castlevania 64, Legacy of Darkness, and most of all, Circle of the Moon - to take over the series. I don't want this "reboot" and I never asked for it.

I asked for a series with continuing platforming quality, not QTEs. Those who said it got stale or was too Japanese never played Order of Ecclesia, a game noted for its art style and challenge. Not only that, but I believe OoE was setting the stage for a new turning point in the series. Why Konami never ran with it I will never understand.

I agree with everything you said.

That is exactly why this must fail.

The only way to make them care about their fans is if their fans take action to make them fail when they don't.

If you have love the franchise and respect yourself you will not support them when they disregard you.

played demo on hard all the way through, bosses took me like 20 tries each, that timed switch part was pretty difficult due a RANDOM hand grabbing you.
also liked how the whip reaches pretty far like a REAL WHIP SHOULD.
