I know they are two completely different styles/gameplay, but still.
Monster hunter: been a fan of similar stuff, and i liked the god eater burst on the psp, (which is pretty much a lite version of the MH series i believe) also i heard that dark souls players will like it.

Etrian Odyssey IV: I haven't played the previous games, but i like these types of games, Legend of Grimrock for the pc, and eye of beholder come to mind.

I pretty much need a time sync that i will enjoy. Id prefer to know peoples opinions on these games and such.

Have you tried the demos? I was very impressed by the EOIV demo, that sold me on the game

Depends on which kind of game you want more. Personally, I prefer Monster Hunter. EO4 looks really addicting though.

Time consuming grinding/farming on both. But considering MH lacks its main appeal, I'd say EO

Based on demos, I'd say EOIV - although I'll admit neither game is really my kind of genre. I'd be more convinced to pick up MH3U if MH4 wasn't coming out in 3ish months in japan with full online.
