wiiking96Posted 3/15/2013 6:22:33 PM | The 3DS would be an excellent opportunity for a sequel to Metroid Fusion and a 3D artstyle for a new 2D game. Just think of 2D Metroid in the style of Donkey Kong Country Returns! A lot of interesting stuff could be done with more detail to the environment.
I would like to see the next 2D Metroid really go all out and push forward in lots of new ways. I would like to see bigger rooms and less doors so that the areas feel more organic; the 3DS is much more powerful than the Gameboy Advance, so it shouldn't be too hard. I want to see many new types of puzzles; some environmental, others relating to creative new items.
Another feature I'd like to see added is the ability to make notes the map. Basically, you could use the Stylus and mark areas of the map where you noticed something suspicious but can't do anything there because you don't have the right item.
For story, I would like to see more of the short cut-scenes we got in Zero Mission, some dialogue between Samus and AI Adam, and a bunch of lore hidden around the world.
Finally, I would love to see a much longer Metroid game than what we've had previously. It should be at least as long as Fusion and with at least a similar sized world.
Just post anything you want to see in a new Metroid game for the 3DS!

Well, what would it take so that you would enjoy a new 2D Metroid? I honestly don't know. Maybe I just don't like 2D platformers anymore.
