I'm going on a trip on Wednesday. 6 hour flight each way. Which game should I get?

If those are your only choices I'd go with monster hunter. You should try the demo though just to be sure the game is for you.

Both of those have demos; try them and see which you like better.

Already have it. Guess I'll check out the demos...although I've heard the Castlevania demo is very sluggish compared to the final product

I'd definitely say MH3. But yeah, try the demo first. Not everyone can get into MH.

If you are going on a trip and you want some Castlevania play the DS ones. You have the Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclessia.

This. LoS: MoF wasn't that great in the demo, and most of the reviews I've heard (from those whose opinions I usually trust) aren't too hot on it either. It's serviceable but the DS games are 100% the better option if you haven't played them.

Also, I'm a huge MH fan, but I don't much like those games when I'm travelling. Getting stuck on a monster you can't beat or having to farm for hours to get a specific material you need happens way too often and gets way too frustrating for me to just sit and play it for several hours straight most of the time. It's much better in shorter intervals or with friends imo.

If you have an XL I'd probably go with MH, if you don't I'd grab Castlevania instead. Both are great games but Castlevania will likely only get you 8-10 hours, while MH will net you hundreds of hours but it feels unplayable on anything but the XL.
