Ninty doesn't really do well with owning both 3DS & XL together, right?

I'm used to having my things tied to an account that I can share between my Vita and PSP. I recently got a 3DS, which I really like, but was thinking about picking up an XL that I might share with someone. I'd still be the primary person using it though. I understand games save on the cartridges and I can play those on either system, but digital downloads are tied to only one system, right?,not an account like how Sony has it, meaning I should only own one 3DS at a time. Just confirming.

Best to have one. You compare the 3ds and XL to the PsP and the Vita. This isn't a good comparison as the psp and vita are two separate systems. A better comparison is the PsP 2000 and the PsP 3000. There is no reason to own both PsP's as it's just a different iteration of the same unit. The the XL is a larger 3ds for people who prefer the size. You can transfer your information between systems but that's about it.

The XL and 3ds is also comparable to comparing the different types of consoles. I suppose Nintendo does do well seeing as this seems to be common practice nowadays. With the different types of Ps3, 360, Wii's, and Wii U they already have.

Yes you are right. Digital downloads are tied to the system it was bought on; no game sharing.

Thanks. Yea, I didn't mean different console comparison (Vita/PSP) as much as I was referring to being able to re-download my PSP games on my Vita. But yes, 2000/3000 or even the PSP Go wouldve been a better comparison. But thanks, yea I'll stick with just one now.
