Club Nintendo free retail game

#1darkninja07Posted 3/23/2013 10:05:42 AM
So, I bought a 3DS XL recently, and I'm going to buy Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon tomorrow. This means that Club Nintendo is going to give me a free retail game download. Now, while I love this idea, my only problem with it is that it's a download. I'm perfectly fine with downloadable games, but I don't really like downloadable retail games. I'd much have the physical copy. This, of course, is personal preference. I would just prefer to have the physical game and not having it take up space on my SD card. I don't mind swapping game cards, I've been doing it for years so I'm used to it. My real question is: Once I have the download code, what should I do with it? My first thought is try to find someone who wants a downloadable game and trade it to them for a physical copy of something.

This or just download Super Mario 3D Land or Mario Kart 7. 3D Land is not worth the $40 price tag and MK7 is a game you should always have on you, so it would make sense to make MK7 digital.

MK7 isn't part of the free download promo.

Also, MK7 isnt a game to always a game to have on you. I've only played it twice since getting it.

Actually a game like MK7 is perfect to have digitally and i'm pro physical games. MK7 is mean't to played over.. and over.. and over again.. for years due to it's replayability.

Star Fox 100 year old game doesn't deserve a 40$ price tag, neither does OoT either.

The fact that it's always brimming with players online and it's a solid multiplayer makes me feel this way. I feel like this is the type of game where if you see some guys with their 3DS systems, you should whip this out and play a few rounds just because.

As a "seasoned" platformer gamer, I felt that Super Mario 3D Land was really bland and the levels felt like they were at the bare minimum half the time. And it didn't get difficult till way too late into the game. It's a good game if you're trying to get into gaming or into the platformer genre but, as a platformer game player, I felt really cheated by how shallow it felt. There were a few clever levels here and there, but I just got bored a half hour in and was only pushing myself along because of how much praise this game got.

Never played the 3DS versions so I can't comment. But I will say that I'm hunting to find SF below $30.
